Titanium dioxide is used to whiten soaps and body products. It is a mineral pigment which will help take the yellow or vanilla tone out of your soap base.

Blend with either water or oil first. Use a small milk frother or if you make a lot of soap, you can blend it with distilled water in a sauce bottle. Use approx 1 teaspoon of powder per 1kg of oils.  Titanium dioxide can be added to soap at trace or you can add it to your oil mixture or lye water first.

It is also ideal to lighten a shade.  For example if you have a deep purple shade, adding titanium dioxide will lighten it to a mauve.

Make sure you don't overuse it in your mixture as it can cause soap to become a tad chalky.  It can also increase trace, so add it late in the process. It can also be used for lip products and is non bleeding.  Not suitable for liquid soap.
