Vitamin E (tocopherols 50)

Our Vitamin E contains a maximum of 50% tocopherols of which 10% is alpha tocopherol. Tocopherols are natural antioxidants and while alpha tocopherol has the highest biological activity, when it comes to product protection (stability to prevent oil oxidation or discolouration) a general mixture of tocopherols can perform just as well. This makes our mixed tocopherols a great choice for boosting the shelf life of your formulation. Vitamin E can be added into the oil phase of a formulation where it can work as a skincare active and an antioxidant to reduce the likelihood of oxidation of the formulation. Vitamin E is NOT a preservative but it can work to boost the stability of your product which in turn makes it less likely to come under micro attack. Country of Origin: USA
