Activated charcoal is a lovely, natural colourant. It's not the charcoal from your fireplace, but is premium quality, made from coconut base and steam activated.
When added to natural soap, it can create colours varying from black to dark grey. Use a higher concentration if you are wanting a black soap.
We suggest combining it with some water first to ensure it disperses evenly in your soap.
Use approximately 2 teaspoons per kilo for cold process soap. It can also be used in melt and pour soap.
Our activated charcoal can also be used as a mask. Mix a quarter of a teaspoon with 2 teaspoons of kaolin clay and 2 teaspoons of water to create a paste. Apply to face and neck, avoiding sensitive area around the eyes and lips. Leave for 5-10 minutes, wash off.
