Glycerine (palm free)

Our glycerine is water soluble and is a colourless, sweet viscous liquid derived from vegetable fats. It is a by product of the soap making process which separates the glycerine from the fatty acids in the whole oil. In this case, the glycerin is extracted from non-palm sources. It is ideal to add to a hand sanitizer to combat the drying effects of the alcohol component of a formula. It is a humectant or water binding additive that performs a number of functions in a formula including solubility of some actives (herbal extracts, perfumes etc) and acting as a moisture reservoir to prevent a product from drying out.

Please note this is not melt and pour glycerine base. This can be found in our melt and pour base listings.
